About Us

All Saints has been nourishing the roots of faith in Ladner for more than 100 years. Through good times and bad we have been a constant focus point for those seeking to know Jesus, to deepen their relationship with him and find hope in his presence. Jesus loved without exception and we strive to recreate that same feeling of welcome in our all-inclusive community. Wherever you are on your journey, we welcome you with open arms. All Are Welcome.

Parish Council

Parish Council consists of our Rector, the Wardens and nine other Parishioners. They are here to represent you, to answer your questions, to listen and to respond to the needs of the Parish.

There are thirteen people on the All Saints Parish Council.  We meet once a month to discuss the business of the Parish, hear reports from the Rector, Wardens and Treasure and seek direction for the future.  The Parish Council members are chosen by the congregation and called by God to carry out both business affairs of our Parish and the spiritual welfare and growth as a family of God.  The Council is always mindful of our Mission and Ministry and asking what God is calling us to do.

The All Saints Parish Council for 2018 consists of the following

The Reverend Liz Hamel (Interim Priest-in-Charge)
Theeps Theeparajah and Glyn Abraham (People's Wardens)

The Reverend Liz Hamel, Interim Priest-in-Charge

I was ordained a deacon in 2014, and served at Christ Church Cathedral until my ordination to the priesthood in 2016. Before coming to All Saints as interim Priest in charge, I was a curate and then Assistant Priest at St. John’s Shaughnessy. I was the Anglican Chaplain at Vancouver General Hospital From 2015 until 2017 I was the Anglican Chaplain at Vancouver General Hospital. I hold an M.Div. from the Vancouver School of Theology. Before my ordination, I studied nursing at Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology (Dip. Nursing), and at Dalhousie University (B.N.), and worked as a nurse in Nova Scotia for several years. At the same time, my interest in music was growing, and I eventually moved to B.C. to study music at UBC (B.Mus.). Since 1989, I have worked as a singer, recorder player, music teacher, and music producer.

I spent my early adult years away from the church, but after the birth of my son I became more curious about how God was working in my life. Although raised in the Presbyterian Church, I was drawn to the beauty of the liturgy and theology of the Anglican tradition, and I happily make the Anglican Church my spiritual home.

I am married to Keith, a musician, and we have four grown children.

I am honoured to be serving the All Saint’s Ladner congregation, and I look forward to getting to know everyone as together we worship God and seek to further God’s mission in the world.
